Birthday Bash

2 Saturdays ago, my best buddies and I had  a simple yet beautiful little gathering at Libra Cocktail house in conjunction with my birthday.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of them who were present. I really had a good time.

Before I forget : David, please send me the photos on your N95 as soon as possible alright. Most of the photos are with David, so I can only post a handful of photos taken with my phone on that day over here. *

So, the tradition in this group of friends I’m with (we call ourselves the brotherhood) has been such that who ever who happens to be the birthday person (or the targeted member during the gathering) has to end up drunk before the end of – or preferably, during – the gathering. 

A typical gathering will look like this.

I present you... the Brotherhood.

Just in case you’re wondering what actually is this brotherhood thing, well, it is a group formed by a group of ex-GBS* boys + 3 ex – St. Davidians, under strict rules and order with only one very clear objective.

To get Drunk.

*GBS = Gajah Berang School ; “Gajah” means Elephant in the Malay Language. “Berang” means Mad, also in the Malay Language.

So with simple Mathematics, if you take a group of “Mad Elephants” and put them together with three so-called “Saints”….

This gathering and getting-drunk tradition has not stopped since the formation of the brotherhood. Some artifacts left over from history will prove this point :

But most importantly, we all have lots of FUN, Napolean Bonaparte style.

We Came. We Saw. We Stripped.

Well. I guess birds of the same feather all flock together.

I shall write an exclusive post on the brotherhood one day when I have the full details (and history) of each member.

Okay back to the birthday gathering

As usual, they tried very hard to get me high and drunk. First it was a few rounds of bottoms-up. And then they gave me this.

Beer + Guinness + Some low grade tequila... Yucks.

It’s Beer + Guinness + Some low-grade tequila we got from the lucky draw on Merdeka Eve, and I was instructed to swallow this in one go non-stop after singing our brotherhood anthem – The “Song Song Day” Song.

To me it tastes like – S.H.I.T. The tequila really spoils the whole thing.

Finished it anyway...

Yucks. But at least I finished it without vomitting.

Although they really tried very hard to make me drunk, I was quite surprised myself that I could still walk back to the car (my gf drove me back), got into the house by myself, brushed my teeth and cleaned myself up before falling unconscious on my bed.
