About Jon

Hi. My name is Jonathan Fun.

Me, Myself and I.

Me.

I was born on the 14th September, which means I’m a Virgo – the Perfectionist – so they say.

My ancestors came from the island of Hainan in China, a place whose people are very famous for their “headwind” (or Tao Hong in Hokkien) character – bad, short and explosive temper. To a certain extent I have to admit that I DO inherit this quality, well, if you want to call that a quality, that is.

I’m the eldest in the family, and I have a great younger brother by the name of Alex. We still fight and quarrel till this day; sometimes we even attempt to kill each other.

I grew up in this little district called Bukit Beruang in Malacca, and literally obtained ALL my formal education in this vicinity; Primary at SRJK (C) Bukit Beruang, Secondary at St. David’s High School, and Tertiary at Multimedia University.

The Malacca Today.

Malacca is a beautiful place. Apart from her historical background as a town once ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch and British (probably one of the most vulnerable place in the world of its time),  it boasts an array of rich culture among her people and Great, Delicious, Mouth-Watering, Worth-Dying-For & Cheap – FOOD.

Pie Tee - A famous local delicacy in Melaka.

Pie Tee - A famous local delicacy in Melaka & my all time favourite!

One of my favourite ways to de-stress and to get away from the kiki and kaka (hustle and bustle) of life is to escape to an island and do some scuba diving. It’s really an amazing sports activity that almost anyone of any age can fall in love with. Just strap yourself up with the diving gear, jump into the water, and you’re in a totally different, totally peaceful, world (don’t be fooled by the Jaws movie – It’s over exaggerating).

Just imagine, being able to just shutting the fish up (you can’t speak while biting a regulator) and listening to the sound of the sea on an average of 35 to 60 minutes, watching beautiful sea creatures like these:

And this.

Beautiful Right? If you’re not a diver and you’re reading this, I strongly recommend that you turn yourself into an amphibian immediately. Should you need any information on how to obtain your open water diver certification, I’ll be happy to provide you with some leads.

I currently work in an Palm Oil Mill in Kluang, Johore as a mill engineer, a field that I never ever thought I would end up in. Since joining this line, I become “one” with the jungle, and the lifestyle here is so much more laid back and relaxed compared to my previous job. My life has transformed from seeing this everyday…

The Past.
The Past.

To this…

The Present.
The Present.

And this.

The Present, too.
The Present, too.

Apart from my daily working routine, I’ve recently decided to spend some extra free time of my own to start a blog, a platform for me to share my stories, ideas and views with the world. A place for me to keep in touch with and to remember my best and long lost friends. An online abode I can call home on the internet.

Hence, the birth of jonathanfun.com.

If you find my entries entertaining and informative, appreciate it very much if you could link me to your site or forward my articles to your friends and peers. Thanks!
