Just got back from KL for my IELTS test on Saturday at IDP Education Australia in SS15. Opposite Taylor’s College. I think the invigilators are stricter than those in the SPM or STPM, because you virtually can’t bring anything inside the exam hall except for your pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, your clothes and your underwear(s). Mechanical pencils are not allowed and they will confiscate them if you do. If they find you with an electronic device, you will automatically be disqualified from the test. The worst part is, you’re not allow to leave your seat and go for toilet breaks during the listening and reading tests. Damn ganas right?

But anyway, the test was quite okay and I hope I managed to answer all the questions correctly. My aim? Band 8 at least! *Fingers Crossed*

Ocean Palms Condominium at Klebang, Melaka.

After I got back yesterday evening, I joined a bunch of my English friends at Ocean Palms for a BBQ party and drinks. The Brotherhood came and join us later. Patricia was there too. And we had a good few round of burgers and drinks Many thanks to Tom, Steve and Andy (rhymes with Tom, Dick and Harry) for the wonderful hospitality and the beers. My site was down for a few hours today due to a server glitch. So sorry for the inconvenience. I will migrate this blog to a new server this few days and I’ll also upgrade my Word Press to version 2.7. I heard it’s fantastic because it can auto upgrade itself from now on and I won’t have to go through the tedious FTP process to upgrade my site!

And it was a great evening, with almost everyone from the Brotherhood except for Khai Shyuan attending the gathering. He promised to come back from Singapore but he took a rain cheque at the very last minute.

Oh how I missed that guy.

Remembering those days where I stayed with him for 1 whole month in the same room on the same bed… the locomotive snores every night… so romantic… that tummy that feels even better than Slumberland…

Nevermind.

Libra Cocktalk House

Jia Ye’s birthday bash, although held at our usual Brotherhood Outpost – Libra Cocktail House @ Jonker Street, wasn’t quite usual in terms of the treatment and the amount of alcohol dosage he got that evening. He’s a lucky lad and I’ll tell you why.

First of all, about 5 days before that day, I got an usual tinker from a good old friend of mine who’s currently studying in the US. It was Sin Ting, Jia Ye’s sweetheart.

Seriously, the first thing I intended to ask her when I first saw her message on MSN was like – Hey, can you give me 4 numbers? I’d like to buy the Lottery (whack Magnum, 1+3D and Toto all at once). Cos it was just really unusual. Been having her on my contact list for years and I hardly chat with her more than 5 times.

But I didn’t. (If I did I could have stroke the lottery already… sigh.)

Instead I asked what I could do for her and she went on and asked me whether I could do her a favor and help her buy a cake for Jia Ye for his birthday.

Sorry Sin Ting, I asked Serina to help check out the whole menu in Secret Recipe and we couldn’t find anything Vanilla. So she helped chose Chocolate Cheese.

Second, Alice, our friend from Singapore, came all the way from the island country back to Melaka and baked Jiaye a wonderful, tasty, mouth-watering cheesecake.

The white one is the Cheese Cake Alice baked...

Lucky lad. I wonder whether anyone would bake a cake for me on my next birthday?

Third, He was amazing. I’ve known this guy for years now and I didn’t know he’s got such tolerance for alcohol.

First it was the Beers.

So we gave him another Flaming 911.

Then Cartoon (the girl in black) came to the rescue with continuous dosages of Tequila Pop, Beers, and shots of various Spirits and Vodka. If my figures were correct I think there were at least 4 to 5 drinks all at one shot, all trying to make Jia Ye go.

We were all excited when he picked up the bucket. We thought we saw it coming….

Until nothing came out except for a burp.

False Alarm.

He took a deep breath, and he was all okay again.

Still No Problemo...

Shit.

But as a consolation, we manage to witness the Indian side of Jia Ye that evening. Since the drinks, he was doing that Indian head dance all night long.

But all in all it was a great gathering, and it was fun being able to catch up with my buddies. Even Sin Ting managed to teleport to Malacca to join us!
